Text to STL generator
Turn any text into a 3D-printable STL. Type a word or two lines, pick a font, and choose raised letters on a rounded plate, on an outline, or letters on their own. See it in 3D and download an STL, a 3MF, or a two-colour 3MF.

Two colours: download 2-colour 3MF and give the letters their own filament in Bambu Studio, Orca or PrusaSlicer. With one nozzle, add a filament change (pause) at 3 mm, the top of the base.
How to turn text into an STL
Type the text. Press Enter for a second line.
Pick a font from the buttons; each is shown in its own lettering.
Choose the base. Rounded plate for a sign or label, Outline for a badge or magnet, None for letters only. Add a key ring if it should hang.
Set the sizes in millimetres and download the STL or 3MF. Print it flat, base down.
Ideas
- Desk and door signs: plate, 150 mm, two colours.
- Shelf and drawer labels: plate, 50 mm, letters raised 1 mm.
- Cake toppers: script font, no base, 120 mm, 3 mm thick; glue on two skewers.
- Fridge magnets: outline base, glue a magnet in the back.

Questions
How do I make letters only, with no base?
Set Base to None. A script font keeps the word in one piece; with a block font each letter prints as a separate part (handy for gluing letters on a wall or a box).
Can I have two lines?
Yes: press Enter in the text box. The lines are centred, and Text width is the width of the longest line.
How do I print it in two colours?
Press 2-colour 3MF: the base and the letters are separate parts of one object, so in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer or PrusaSlicer you just pick a filament for each (AMS, MMU or a tool changer). With a single nozzle, download the STL and add a filament change at the top of the base; the message under the 3D view shows the height.
How do I make a door sign?
Rounded plate, 150–200 mm wide, 4 mm base and 3 mm letters. Turn the key ring on top to hang it, or leave it off and stick it with tape.
How thick should 3D printed letters be?
Letters raised 2–3 mm read well from a distance; 1 mm is enough for a label. Thin strokes in script fonts need at least about 1.5 mm of width to print cleanly, so make small text wider.
Can I use my own font?
Not on this page yet; it has eight free fonts (rounded, script, marker, condensed and bold). In FlatCad 3D you can add more text to the part, change it, or combine it with other shapes.
Can I change it after?
Press Open in FlatCad 3D: the base and the text open as features of a 3D part. Move the ring, add a second line or an icon, round the edges, then export a new STL.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, with no account. The model is made in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
