Name keychain generator

Type a name, pick a font, and get a 3D-printable keychain: the letters raised on an outline that follows them, with a key ring on the end. Turn it around in 3D, then download an STL, a 3MF, or a two-colour 3MF ready for an AMS.

How to make a name keychain

  1. Type the name. The keychain updates as you type.

  2. Pick a font. Each button shows its own lettering: Pacifico and Lobster for script, Fredoka for rounded, Bebas Neue for tall block capitals.

  3. Set the size. Text width is the width of the letters in mm; the outline and ring add to it.

  4. Download the STL for any slicer, or the 2-colour 3MF for a multi-colour printer.

Ideas

Want a sign, a plate or loose letters instead? Use text to STL. A logo or a drawing? Image to STL. Cutting keychains on a laser? Laser cut keychain.

Questions

How big should a name keychain be?

50–60 mm wide is a typical key fob. Short names come out taller for the same width, so for one or two letters try 35–40 mm. The size shows under the 3D view.

What thickness prints well?

A 3 mm base with letters raised 1.5–2 mm is strong and prints in about 20 minutes at 0.2 mm layers. Script fonts with thin joins look best at 55 mm or wider.

How do I print it in two colours?

Press 2-colour 3MF: the base and the letters are separate parts of one object, so in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer or PrusaSlicer you just pick a filament for each (AMS, MMU or a tool changer). With a single nozzle, download the STL and add a filament change at the top of the base; the message under the 3D view shows the height.

Why are some letters joined?

Script fonts like Pacifico and Dancing Script are meant to join up, so the name prints as one piece. With a block font the outline base holds the separate letters together.

How do I print it?

Flat on the bed, base down, no supports. PLA or PETG; 2–3 walls, 15–20% infill. A split ring or a lanyard goes through the hole.

Can I use my own font?

Not on this page yet; it has eight free fonts (rounded, script, marker, condensed and bold). In FlatCad 3D you can add more text to the part, change it, or combine it with other shapes.

Can I change it after?

Press Open in FlatCad 3D: the base and the text open as features of a 3D part. Move the ring, add a second line or an icon, round the edges, then export a new STL.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Free, with no account. The model is made in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
