SVG to STL converter

Turn an SVG into a 3D-printable STL. Drop a logo, icon or drawing: filled shapes become solid, the holes in them stay open, and plain lines become walls as wide as you like. Raise it on a base for a badge, sign or keychain, see it in 3D, then download an STL or 3MF.

How to convert an SVG to STL

  1. Drop the SVG in the box above, or click to pick it. It is shown in 3D within a second.

  2. Set the size. Type the width in mm, or choose As drawn to keep the size saved in the file.

  3. Choose the base. Outline around it makes a badge or magnet, Rounded plate a sign, None just the shape (letters, a stencil, a part).

  4. Line art? Lines become walls: set Line width. For a cookie-cutter style outline of a filled shape choose Outlines only.

  5. Download the STL or 3MF and print it flat, base down.

Getting a clean result

Got a PNG or JPG instead? Image to STL traces it first. Need a DXF for a laser or CNC? SVG to DXF. A DXF to print? DXF to STL.

Questions

Why does my SVG come out distorted in other converters?

Most of them trace the SVG as a picture or guess at its curves. This one reads the paths themselves, follows curves to within 0.02 mm, and keeps the shape exactly as drawn: a 40 mm circle stays a 40 mm circle.

What happens to the holes in letters and logos?

They stay holes. Shapes inside shapes alternate (the even-odd rule), so the inside of an O or a ring is open, and a shape inside that hole is solid again.

My SVG is just lines. Will it work?

Yes. Paths without a fill (strokes only, like line art or a laser-cut file) become walls; set Line width to how thick they should print. Choose Outlines only to turn filled shapes into outlines too.

How big will the STL be?

With Set the width, the width you type in millimetres. With As drawn, the size stored in the SVG (its width and height in mm, cm or inches; plain pixels count as 96 per inch).

My text is missing.

Text in an SVG is a font reference, not a shape. Turn it into outlines first (Inkscape: Path, Object to Path; Illustrator: Type, Create Outlines), or use the text to STL generator.

Can I print it in two colours?

Use a base and press 2-colour 3MF: the base and the raised part are separate parts in Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer or PrusaSlicer. With one nozzle, add a filament change at the top of the base.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The SVG is read and the STL is made in your browser; nothing leaves your computer.
